About

TGbox is a bilingual directory of Telegram channels, groups and bots, with automatically refreshed data and dead entries removed on their own.

Last updated ·

Telegram is full of great public channels, groups and bots, but its built-in search is weak and good content is hard to discover. Many directories are thin, rarely updated, and keep listing channels that were banned or abandoned long ago. TGbox aims to do better.

What we do

  • Rich pages: every entry shows its avatar, description, category, tags, language, exact member count, creation date, listing date and activity level. Channels also preview their latest 20 posts.
  • Fresh data: details are refreshed from public Telegram pages on a schedule. Banned, deleted or privatised entries are detected and taken down automatically.
  • Easy submissions: owners message @tgboxccbot with a link and get the review result by private message. See the submission guide.
  • Bilingual: every page exists in Chinese and English; switch any time from the header.

Promoted entries

Some entries may be paid or partner placements. They are always clearly marked “Promoted” so they are never confused with regular listings.

Fast and light

The whole site is pre-built static pages: no sign-in, no personal tracking, and quick to load on slow networks and phones. You can also add it to your home screen and use it like an app.

About this project

TGbox is open source: the site, the submission bot and the admin all live in one public repository, released under the AGPL-3.0 licence. File an issue or a pull request at https://github.com/TGrpg/tgbox, or run your own directory from the same code under the terms of that licence.

Contact

To report a dead entry, a wrong category or abusive content, or to have your own entry removed, message @tgboxccbot and send /help for contact details.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find good Telegram channels?

Telegram's own search only matches names, so you can't find channels you haven't heard of. On TGbox you can browse Telegram channels by category (tech, news, video and so on) and by tag, search the whole directory by keyword, or open the rankings to see what is growing fastest and what is most active. Every entry shows its member count, activity level and recent posts, and a direct link opens it in Telegram.

How do I get my channel, group or bot listed?

Message our submission bot @tgboxccbot privately on Telegram and send the link (t.me/xxx or @xxx). It fetches the public profile automatically; once approved the entry goes live within minutes and you get the result by private message. Listing is free — see the submission guide on the site.

How often is the data updated?

Member counts, online counts, activity levels and recent posts are refreshed on a schedule, and the whole site is rebuilt regularly — usually something changes every day. Entries that get banned, deleted or switched to private are detected and taken down automatically, so the lists stay free of dead links.

Does listing cost anything? What does “Promoted” mean?

Regular listings are free and ordering only uses public data such as member count and activity. Entries marked “Promoted” are paid or partner placements and are always labelled, never disguised as organic results.

How do I report abuse or remove my entry?

Message @tgboxccbot and send /help for contact details, then tell us the username and the reason. TGbox only lists channels, groups and bots that are already public on Telegram; their owners are responsible for the content.
